There was drama in Ekiti state this morning as Governor Ayodele Fayose lurked-around the state secretariat to fish-out perpetual late comers. The governor showed up unexpectedly at the government facility around 8.10am in the company of the head of service . There had been reports that civil servants were showing a nonchalant attitude to work, so the governor surprised them with a personal visit. See pictures below. Some farmers in Ekiti State have cried out of been marginalised in the distribution of agrochemicals to cocoa farmers in the state. Cocoa farmers from all 16 local government areas of the state were seen to have converged at the seed processing unit of the agric ministry located along Matthew street, Ado Ekiti to be part of good gesture. Speaking at Iyin Ekiti yesterday, two of the farmers, Isa Yusuf and Nasiru Yaya said the selection process was one sided as majority of the cocoa farmers are been marginalised. They called on the state governor,Peter Ayodele Fayose to use his good office to assist them in ensuring that equity and justice is considered while the distribution lasted. A report we are monitoring on Channels Television has announced the crash of an Air Force helicopter, which reportedly went down at the site of the old National Defence Academy in Kaduna state. Additional reports say the helicopter, which was on a routine Air Force training flight was heading to Abuja from the Nigerian Airforce base in Kaduna, when the incident occurred. According to Daily Post, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)  has confirmed that all seven passengers on board did not survive the crash. The flight was said to have crashed 10 minutes after take-off at about 6. 47am earlier today, with the pilot, co-pilot, two engineers and three passengers on board, Abusidiqu reports. A military source who confirmed the incident told reporters that the helicopter crashed  at the old  site of the NDA at about 6.30am . The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun a probe into the administration of the former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi. According to a This Day report, the probe is based on a petition by a Port Harcourt-based group, the Integrity Group, which on July 29 wrote to the EFCC detailing three instances of alleged corruption, graft and abuse of office under Amaechi’s government. The first allegation was that Rivers state electric power projects were sold and the proceeds converted to other uses through payments amounting to N60 billion to three companies all located at Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt. The alleged transfers, made in US dollars, occurred within a space of one week between December 1 and 8, 2014. The second instance of alleged corruption was that the proposed Karibi Whyte Specialist Hospital in Port Harcourt was a failed contract, which cost the state a massive N4.63 billion in what the petitioners described as q...
