Fraud Allegations: Buhari May Sack EFCC Boss

Global Village Extra, a US-based online newspaper, has reported that President Muhammadu Buhari will sack Ibrahim Lamorde, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today.
The newspaper noted that the expected sack is connected to an alleged trillion naira fraud perpetrated by the anti-graft commission’s chairman, which has tarnished the image of the agency.
Barring last minute developments, Ibrahim Lamorde may be fired by the Nigerian president today

George Uboh, a petitioner who appeared before the Nigerian Senate committee yesterday, had alleged that Lamorde gave choice properties seized from the former Bayelsa State Governor, DSP Alamieyesigha and others, to Usman Lamorde, his younger brother.
The petitioner also provided information on how Lamorde allegedly diverted a massive N2.5 trillion from seized properties and funds of individuals under investigation by the EFCC.

It is now almost certain that President Buhari has approved the immediate sacking and replacement of Lamorde, who will be investigated immediately afterwards.

Breaking: Seven Die As Nigerian Airforce Helicopter Crashes In Kaduna (PHOTOS)

A report we are monitoring on Channels Television has announced the crash of an Air Force helicopter, which reportedly went down at the site of the old National Defence Academy in Kaduna state. Additional reports say the helicopter, which was on a routine Air Force training flight was heading to Abuja from the Nigerian Airforce base in Kaduna, when the incident occurred. According to Daily Post, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)  has confirmed that all seven passengers on board did not survive the crash. The flight was said to have crashed 10 minutes after take-off at about 6. 47am earlier today, with the pilot, co-pilot, two engineers and three passengers on board, Abusidiqu reports. A Nigeria-based journalist, Simon Ateba, who is currently investigating how Nigerians are treated in refugees camp across Cameroon, has been arrested by the Cameroonian authorities.
