16-Year-Old Boy Burnt To Death In Lekki

Tragedy struck in the early hours of today, September 7, as a 16-year-old boy, identified as Timehin Jinadu was burnt to death in a duplex at Lekki area of Lagos.
According to PM News report, the boy was sleeping with his family when there was a fire outbreak.
The fire, which reportedly started at about 2a.m., burnt the duplex at 35C, Ajiran Road, Agungi area of Lekki.
When the fire servicemen from the Lekki Fire Station got the distress call, they quickly swung into action.
According to Rasak Fadipe, the director, Lagos State Fire Service, they got to the scene with 10,000 litres of water and were able to rescue three people from the duplex of four bedroom.
He explained that they found Timehin, already roasted by the fire in the bathroom.
Fadipe said the boy might have gone to the bathroom in a bid to escape from the fire but unfortunately burnt to death.
The director added that the boy’s father and two other children were found unconscious and had to be rushed to the hospital.
On the cause of the fire, he said it was a power surge after light was restored in the night to the area.
There’s been a number of fire incidents in Lagos and other parts of the country. Some time a July, in a community in Isolo area of Lagos.
In August, in a ghastly car accident along Yantumaki Dutsinma road in Katsina state.
